In an old, dilapidated saloon, a young woman disguises herself as a woman-of-the-night in order to lure her target - the bandit responsible for her husband's death. When she and the bandit meet, she seduces and leads him into a supply closet. Soon after, she traps the man to get information about the murder. As the interrogation unfolds the girl realizes that revenge won’t be easy, leaving her to decide his fate.

For this 1890’s period piece, I worked with the production team to create a historically accurate yet stylistically foreboding look to the film’s western town. Through the process, I was able to draw on classic inspirations like Altman’s McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Leone’s Once upon a time in the West, and the Coen’s True Grit to distinguish the set’s voice from a plain historical recreation into something more of a tool for the storytelling.

As the production designer, my duties included:

• Drafting and constructing the film’s primary storage closet set piece,

• Coordinating with the producer to work with local business owners to utilize a storage warehouse as a soundstage for construction,

• Working with the Savannah based property warehouse Film Biz Recycling to acquire prop elements and set dressing,

• Calculating  budget proposals and managing construction material orders through Home Depot,

• Painting, distressing, and aging PVC foam board to create faux lumber walls,

• Assisting with location scouts at Saloon Studios and overseeing a small team to set dress the location according to period.

• Collaborated with the VFX supervisor to ensure a seamless transition from the modern amenities of the location to ensure period accuracy.

• Ensured the timely execution of all scenic duties under heavy time constraints.
